About this tour
The beginning of the trail crosses over a footbridge and then crosses a small stream through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. The 0.8 mile trail gradually ascends through a lush rainforest ending at a viewing area set back from the base of the falls. There is a low rock wall and suspended cable with signs indicating the danger of landslide and instructing hikers to not go beyond that point. Approximately 50 feet from the viewing area there is a marked trail to the left. This is Aihualama Trail, which switchbacks up the ridge, through bamboo, offering views of Honolulu and Valley. Aihualama Trail is not suitable for novice hikers. There was a landslide next to the waterfall in January of 2002. A viewing area with a bench has been established that restricts access to the pool and waterfall, and from the side of the stream where the landslide occurred. Signs are posted informing users of the trail terminus and of the potential danger of the area beyond. The trail ends at the viewing area. DO NOT GO BEYOND POSTED SIGNS AND CABLE AT THE END OF THE TRAIL- violators may be prosecuted.

The rainforests of Oahu are some of the most vibrant in the world, home to countless endemic animals and plants and providing a unique visual beauty that is impossible to see anywhere else. Hike out to see this natural jungle and the waterfalls that cut their way down from the rocky hills and cliffs that can be found everywhere here.
Our tour begins with a complimentary pickup from wherever you stay in Waikiki. From there, your driver will take you into the valley, providing you with bug spray and bottled water for your 2-mile trip into the dripping Jurassic jungles of Manoa.
Hike for roughly 45 minutes, and you will come to a 150-ft. waterfall, where you may want to take photos and enjoy the view for a moment before making the trek back.
Even long after this journey is complete and you have made your way home, you will carry with you the memories, and pictures if you take them, of your time hiking through the natural splendor of Oahu. In your time with us, we will ensure you get the most out of this time, and have the best possible experience to remember for the rest of your life.

What to Bring & What to Wear: You can wear sneakers and comfortable clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting muddy.
Pro Tip: Even though it looks inviting, it is not recommended to swim in it because of the many risks of rock sliding/falling, which have occurred in this area. Also, it isn’t safe to drink the water because of leptospirosis contamination.
